About Alva's Ayurveda Medical College Moodbidri
Alva’s Ayurvedic Medical College based in Moodbidri is under the leadership and guidance of visionary Dr. M. Mohan Alva, who established Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College in the year 1996. The institution is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore, and approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi. The institution has a capacity of 100 students’ admission to a 4 ½ years bachelor of medicine and surgery (B.A.M.S) course every year.
Along with post-graduate courses in the following disciplines namely Dravyaguna Vijnana and Shalya Tantra, Panchakarma, Kaumarabhritya, Ayurveda Siddhanta, and Shareera Rachana, Kayachikitsa, Rasashastra, Bhaishajya Kalpana, Agada Tantra and Prasooti Tantra and Stree Roga, Shalakya Tantra, Manasa Roga, Roga Nidana evam Vikruti Vijnana, Swasthavritta and Kriya Shareera. The institution also offers Ph.D. Program in the subject of Dravya Guna.
The institute provides the facilities like a hospital lab, herbal garden, and trained teaching staff.

BAMS Admissions in the AAMC
Eligibility
- Students seeking admission to the first professional B A M S course must have passed the 10+2 examination of the state board or any other examination considered equivalent thereto by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, (RGUHS)Bangalore, with English as one of the optional subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in the Physics Chemistry Biology Groups. However in the case of students belonging to SC/ST & category, first the minimum requirement in the percentage of marks for admission to the first B A M S course is relaxed by 10% of marks.
- No candidates shall be admitted unless he/she has completed 17 years of age on the 31st December year of admission.
