About The Course

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is an undergraduate degree course after Class 12 with science as core subjects. BAMS is based on the traditional art of healing in India; popularly known as Ayurveda.

About Ayurveda:-

“The goal of the Ayurvedic system is to prevent illness, heal the sick and preserve life.”

Ayurveda is one of the ancient medical schemes of the whole world. This medical system provides the best treatment for different sorts of health problems without incurring any harmful side-effects. It traces its roots to the Vedic period.

The word Ayurveda means “the science of life” (Ayur means “life” and Veda means “science” in Sanskrit)

As per Ayurveda, the human body undergoes three types of disorders. These three disorders are Kapha means Phlegm (Water and Earth), Pitta means Bile (fire & water) and Vata means Wind (air and space).

All together these three disorders are called Dosha. Ayurvedic says that a person got ill when he gets out of the harmony of said three Doshas

Direct Admissions In Ayurveda Programme

Eligibility:-

The candidates who hold the following eligibility criteria are eligible to take admission to BAMS Colleges.

Must have completed 17 years on 31^st December in the year of admission.
Minimum 50% marks in the KCET/ COMEDK examination gor General Category.
For SC/ST candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 40% instead of 50%.

Through CET/COMEDK or Karnataka selection of candidates for admission to professional institution tests & counseling.
